welcome to the Savage world. Don't worry about the backfiring, that's normal.
My '95 does the same, and almost everyone elses as well, I think.
I drilled 6 holes in a neat pattern around the original outlet and then painted them black
with high temperature paint. Looks good and sounds great. Might even be a bit too
loud. But as long as the police won't care, so do I.
